Guidelines

This site was created to serve people who are receiving appropriate medical
treatment for their bipolar illness, including appropriate medications. We also welcome affected friends and family members of people with bipolar illness.

The following GUIDELINES must be observed for the mutual benefit of ALL visitors to the Harbor of Refuge chatrooms.

* We do not discuss Dosages (Only meds names), Suicide, Self Mutilation,
* Religion, Politics, sexual orientation, useage of illicit Drugs, or Alcohol.
* Any mistreatment of another person will result in your being banned.
* If you want to have a private discussion one of our Ops will be glad to help you.
* If you become Suicidal leave the chat and call your Doctor or 911.
* Any stalking of another will result in your being banned permanently.
* Please register your nickname; ask an Op to help.

If you find that for any reason you cannot abide by these guidelines, there are other places on the web that will allow you to openly discuss whatever you want. Please seek them out and go to one of them.

• We at the Harbor of Refuge Organization would like to advise all our Channel Ops and visitors of the potential danger of giving out personal information such as home phone numbers and addresses to other visitors.
• Although the ultimate decision to distribute your personal information is yours to make, and we do our best to provide a secure environment for all users of and visitors to our site, it is impossible to provide this same degree of security outside our little realm.
• This practice also opens up liability issues that may lead to unsettling, disturbing or unsafe situations and is strongly discouraged.
• Please use the utmost discretion and caution when considering giving out this information.
• Language that is vile and offensive or swearing of any kind will result in your being asked only once to refrain from any further use of it. Continued useage will result in you being "kicked" from the room
