Most people withi bipolar disorder seem to take at least one and sometimes a combination of medications from the three classes below. One person suggested adding another class, antianxiety meds. But I think at this point the list is overwhelming as it is, and that's the point of putting it down here so we can both be appropriately awestruck.

The point of all this is (1) find a doctor who knows his medications and (2) have a little patience because it may take a few wrong turns in medication to find the right turn, and (3) learn all you can about the medications you take and the side-effects so you both know your stuff!
