Life is full of pain, but does it ever get better?
Will people ever care about each other, and make time for those who are in need?

Each of us has a part to play in this great show we call life.
Each of us has a duty to mankind to tell our friends we love them.
If you do not care about your friends you will not be punished.

You will simply be ignored...
forgotten...
as you have done to others.

There was a time, awhile ago and in another place, when the only choice that an observer had if they hoped to remain a participant of what was thought to be a support program, was to stand quietly as their friends were systematically made to feel as if their entire existence lay solely in
the hands of one persons whims.
Some of these observers have been forgotten.
And, then some of these observers took a stand and thought that
self recognition was not what support for people diagnosed
as having bipolar disorder was about.

Their objection to the mistreating of their fellows was dealt with harshly;
the wounds they suffered are still not healed.
But from the pains that they suffered lessons were learned and the major lesson was that we are all expected to treat one another with love, understanding and, patience.

The Harbor 0f Refuge was conceived and born to provide this loving care.

A Harbor of Refuge.......What is it?
A Harbor of Refuge is open to anything that is distressed.
Unlike a lighthouse that is the beam showing a point or direction a Harbor
is open to all that require assistance.
We have been shown to this Harbor of Refuge after the port we had sought
safety in became unsafe.
Let us not make a mistake about what it is we have established here.
It is not a joke.
It is not a hang out.
It is what you make it.
If there is a person who requires help they will be helped in the best way that we can help them.
The facility will be provided by some and the aid provided by you.

I thank you that we are able to do this work together.
There is a reason WHY we have been brought together.

It was not by chance.

Perhaps this is through our chance to do this work and bring some relief to those who have not been able to come from the dark of their suffering into the light of living with a degree of normalcy that will make them more fit for whatever the Higher Powers that be has planned for them.
Thank you for bestowing upon us the awesome job.

We pray that you will assist us and to at least grant us the fortitude to
provide an acceptable course for the lost that seek assistance at this
Harbor of Refuge.

Thank you for bringing us together safely in this place of refuge.

Amen.
